Andrew Haythorpe,
Managing Director

Mr Haythorpe is a Geologist by profession and has been associated with the Mining and Exploration sector for over 20 years. He gained experience in evaluating the technical and financial aspects of mining projects while working as a mining analyst for Suncorp, County Natwest and Hartley Poynton, and then as a Fund Manager with Bankers Trust.  Previously Mr Haythorpe has served as Managing Director of Michelago Resources and Crescent Gold and as non-executive Chairman of Aurox Resources. He is currently the Managing Director & Chairman of Liberty Resources Ltd.

Andrew holds a BSc (Hons) from James Cook University 1984, as well as a double Major in Geology.

Steve McRae - Chief Financial Officer

Steve spent over 20 years in Public Practice working with SMEs and has latterly worked with several listed entities as Financial Controller/Chief Financial Officer. Steve holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and is currently member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Steve's role in the organization is instrumental in the process required to develop, finance and commission Liberty projects.

Lance Harcourt - Projects Delivery Manager

Lance has been working in projects and management roles in the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry for 28 years. During this time, he has gained extensive experience in the design, construction and commissioning of oil and gas projects in Australia and overseas. Lance was an Interface Manager and Area Project Engineer on Woodside's North Rankin B Project, Topsides Construction Manager for BHP, Site Construction Manager for Roc Oil's Cliff Head A Wellhead Platform, Project Engineer and Lead Architect for the Fluor Amec JV, Lead Architect on Phillips Petroleum's Bayu Undan Project, Commercial Manager for Bouygues Offshore and Project Engineer for McDermott International.

Gavin Ball - General Manager

Gavin Ball was appointed as General Manager of Liberty Resource to support and assist in the management of the business in its move towards the commercialization of its key projects.

With over 20 years of hands-on company management experience, Gavin brings a commercial non-mining presence to the Liberty team important to this stage of its development.

During his business life, Gavin purchased, started and operated a number of varied businesses through his Vorian Investment Group. Having spent the last 19 years investing and managing a variety of businesses in many different and varied markets, Gavin is ideally suited to support the commercialization of the Liberty project.

During his business life, Gavin has started or being involved in the start-up of numerous businesses, including; Professionals Property Plus Real Estate a large high profile residential real estate business; Millennium Solutions a successful Y2K consulting company; Mortgage & Finance; Rightpeople online testing; Sonic Telecom (merged into Allphones) and the most notably the Allphones Group.

During his time with Allphones, Gavin helped manage and build the company to a national footprint. Today Allphones has well over 200 stores and is a major retailer in Australia.

Having been actively involved in the management and growth of every company started or purchased, Gavin has a wealth of hands on experience in the start-up, development and growth of businesses and in a valued member of the Liberty team.

Scott Cross - Corporate & Policy Development

Scott Cross has over 12 years experience in the finance industry. Initially commencing his career in stock-broking and financial services, Scott subsequently took a position in Toronto Canada, where he was contracted to the VC Industry. Today, Scott maintains a strong network in the Canadian Market.

Scott has a strong understanding and substantial experience in debt, equity and derivatives markets. Scott expertise is demonstrated in his regularly presentations at industry and client conferences on behalf of the Macquarie business unit.

Whilst at Macquarie, Scott established a significant network throughout the bank both on the Retail and Investment Bank sides of the Group. His domestic and international networks allowed him to facilitate deals and to promote stock, deals and trades via the intermediary and Institutional advice sector.

Scotts Experience is a valuable part of the Liberty team in the establishment, financing and commissioning of Liberty's project ambitions.

Claus Wohlert-Jensen - Senior Mechanical Engineer

Claus is a mechanical engineering postgraduate qualified, rotating equipment engineer, with over 30 years local and international experience in the oil and gas industry. His experience started with Shell International Petroleum as Project Engineer and more recently as Rotating Equipment Specialist for Worley Parson Fluor Amec - Woodside Enfield Project, Tiga Joint Venture - Conoco Phillips Bayu Undan Project and Carigali - PTTEPI Operating Company CPOC.

Karl Cahill - Investor Relations USA

Mr. Karl Cahill has spent the last 10 years in the United States working as a consultant to emerging public Biotech/Tech. & Resource Companies, He was responsible for raising over US $100 million in funds, significantly increasing shareholder value resulting in top tier licensing deals, partnerships and M&A opportunities. His career spans 17 years in the public markets. Mr.Cahill has held positions with several Nasdaq and TSX listed companies in North America. He did his undergraduate studies in Finance at the University of Westminster in London, England. He speaks English, German and French and has lived and worked in Europe, Asia and North America.

Justyn Peters

Justyn left school at 16 and joined the South Australian Police force and served as a police officer and prosecutor for 7 years and then in the Federal Police Force where he duxed his course. He then left the SA Police and joined the IP protection unit and as a Federal Agent he returned to Adelaide to study Politics and Law at Adelaide University.

After leaving University as qualified Barrister and Solicitor Justyn worked as legal counsel for a Bank and Finance Group, as a University Lecturer then settled into the management stream.

He was Legal Counsel with the DEH before moving to Queensland to establish the Compliance and Investigation Group in the Queensland EPA. His broad investigation, legal and management skills were quickly recognised in the EPA and he worked as acting Director of the environment in a range of locations throughout Qld.

He then joined Airservices Australia as National Environment Manager to manage the environmental performance of Australian Aviation. He was made the National Environment and Property Manager at Airservices and finally became head of Commercial for North Asia.

Most importantly Justyn joined Linc Energy in 2006 when the company had less than 10 employees and was in its infancy. During his six years with Linc, he held the positions of General Manager Government and Environment Affairs, General Manager of Business Development, Executive General Manager Asia and Executive General Manager Investor Relations.

Justyn brings a broad range of skills and qualities to Liberty. He has a strong worth ethic and drive to succeed. Importantly for a UCG Company he has extensive Environmental management experience both as a regulator and being regulated. His experience, contacts and understanding of the opportunities and challenges that are presented to a young growing and ambitious UCG company are invaluable.

Jake De Boer

Jake has over 26 years in the Fertiliser and Coal Gasification industries and held Senior positions in Perdaman Chemicals & Fertilisers, GHD Oil and Gas and Sasol (Technology) in South Africa. He specialises in unconventional energy project development, and has led front end definition of various coal gasification based projects across Australasia and Africa. At Perdaman, he was responsible for technical, environmental and project requirements for the $3.5 billion, 2 mtpa Urea Collie Coal to Urea project in Western Australia.

Jake's Qualifications combine a M Eng (Chemical Engineering) with a BCom.

Scott Walters

Mr. Walters has over 19 years of securities industry experience, the majority of which has been spent investing in and financing the natural resource space. His execution experience on the buy and sell side encompasses all types of investment banking transactions and resource funding including a focus on public and private equity and debt offerings; exclusive sale assignments, strategic advisory assignments, project finance, RTO's and IPO's. Mr. Walters was most recently a Managing Director of Investment Banking for a US based global banking firm.
